Hasta el domingo 22 de octubre se podrá limpiar, pintar o adecentar las tumbas, bóvedas y lotes familiares del Cementerio Central de Santo Domingo. Así, la Fundación Monseñor Emilio Lorenzo Stehle se prepara para el feriado por el Día de los Difuntos.
José Garófalo, administrador, explicó que también se está trabajando casa adentro con la “pintura de bancas, árboles, 
parterres, baños y cerramiento”. Se estima que unas 30 mil personas visitarán el Camposanto durante el feriado.
Es por ello que se realizan gestiones ante el Gobierno Municipal para que mantenga despejada de comerciantes y vehículos la avenida Tsáchila, donde se ubican los cinco accesos al lugar.
En materia de seguridad cuentan con el apoyo a la Policía Nacional, pero además 30 guardias privados estarán al interior del cementerio “para que quienes nos visiten se sientan cómodos y seguros, pues vienen a un lugar de paz y reflexión”, dice Garófalo.
Los guardias velarán por el orden al interior del cementerio porque estará prohibida la venta y consumo de bebidas alcohólicas, ingreso de artistas y comercialización de cualquier tipo de productos. (I)

El jueves 2 de noviembre el Cementerio Central estará abierto de 08:00 a 22:00 y se oficiarán misas cada hora desde las 07:00 hasta las 18:00
Mientras que el miércoles 1 y viernes 3 de noviembre estará abierto de 08:00 a 19:00.
